SRT's Production of "Everything but the Brain"
Singapore Repertory
Theatre. Singapore. August 17, 2013. Over the years, I’ve been to several plays at
SRT, all of which have been excellent, but none as unusual as local playwright
Jean Tay’s “Everything but the Brain.”
Performed by non-professionals, whose talent was palpable, the story
line is impossible to describe. On one
level, it is about a stroke victim and his daughter who elects to take care of
him. On another level it is a fantasy in
which three bears play a major role. On
another, it is about love and just being alive.
Watching “Everything but the Brain” is the type of experience that can
only be had in theatre.
